Hello Kossaks. Sorry this diary is so short. I just though I should let you all know what American Airlines thinks of us.
I fly alot. Every week. I am one of those people that racks up over 100K miles a year. So I treat myself to an Admirals Club membership every year. I like having a comfy chair to sit in. I like having a clean bathroom. I like being able to check my email and do a bit of web surfing between flights.
One week ago I stopped off in the AC at LAX en route to Denver. I sat down in the little office area and checked my email. Then I tried to see what was up here at the DailyKos. I was surprised to find the site blocked and labeled as "Hate/Violence". Out of curiosity, I also checked HuffPo. It wasn't blocked, but there was a warning about indeterminate content. Curious, I tried to access RedState. The site came up with no warnings. I also tried to access LGF and was blocked with the "Hate/Violence" message.
So I sent an email to American Airlines asking why this site is considered hateful and violent and RedState is not. They didn't get back to me.
Today I found myself back at LAX. I went to one of the terminals and tried to access DailyKos. Blocked. This time the message was "Hate/Violence" plus "Pornography". What have you guys been up to this week? I checked HuffPo. Blocked with just "Hate/Violence". I checked RedState and it came right up. Then I had to catch my flight so I didn't get to investigate further. I will be flying again on Sunday and I will dig a bit more.
I don't think I need to elaborate much further. I can understand blocking all blogs. But selectively blocking them is not cool. Including the "Hate/Violence" and "Pornography" labels is really not cool.
If you get a chance, drop them an email and let them know what you think. You can message them from the aa.com website. Or give them a call:
